10 weeks

To celebrate 10 weeks, Andrew weighed in at 10 lbs 10 oz today. He takes up the whole couch cushion now and he’s nearly as tall as the penguin.

He’s continued to gain a pound every 2 weeks since his birth. I don’t know when it will slow down….

Baptism!

He has put on Christ, in him he has been baptized. Alleluia

Today’s was Andrew’s Baptism. We were blessed to have lots of family and friends come celebrate with Andrew.

Mizzou tailgate

Andrew had a big day today. First, he slept 8 hours for the first time last night! Then we traveled to Columbia for a tailgate hosted by Grandma the Vice Provost.

Andrew met Aunt Julia, Uncle Igor and his future cousin (coming in November).

He hung out with his cousins.

And he got lots of Grandma time

9 weeks

Andrew’s still growing like crazy, he’s in size 3 month clothing already and I’m sure he’s over 10 pounds.

Andrew has also started smiling this week!

AND today he rolled over for the first time front to back! I’ll try to get it on video, but it’s just amazing how strong he’s getting.

8 weeks old

Andrew’s up to 9 lbs 11oz and 23 inches long! He’s holding his head up more each day. He got his first vaccines today and we celebrated with a trip to the zoo.

Home at last

We had a fun trip but it’s good to be home.

Andrew is 6 weeks old now! He’s well over 8 pounds now and he slept 5 hours last night!

We visited Wade, Nicole, Addie and Henry in Cedar Rapids.

Then we saw Aunts Shawn and Sue in Minneapolis and Andrew’s future godmother, cousin Anna.image

Then we finally made it up to the cabin.

Custody Granted!

Today a St. Louis County judge granted us legal custody of Andrew! Six months from now we’ll go back to have it finalized. State law requires 6 months of “supervision” before finalizing an adoption.

The brothers celebrating.

Grateful

Andrew is 4 weeks old today. He’s already up to 7lbs and just started wearing newborn-sized clothing!

He’s gained so much strength as well. Last week he couldn’t stay propped up on the couch, this week he can!

Thinking over these last two weeks since Andrew joined our family, our overwhelming emotion is gratitude. We’re so grateful to Andrew’s birthmom for taking such good care of him his first 9 months of life. We’re so grateful to the staff at MoBap for suggesting our adoption agency, Bethany. We’re so grateful to the nurses in the NICU who took great care of him. And we’re so grateful to our friends and family for all the support they’ve given us. And of course we’re thankful to God for the blessing that Andrew is to our family.

Baby Fashion Show

Andrew has amassed quite a collection of preemie clothes through various sources. Just because you’re small, doesn’t mean you can’t be stylin’.

For the hard-working baby

Perfect for playing a match of tennis at the club

Plenty of lounge wear is a must

Finally, every boy needs a dinosaur t-shirt

Size

Andrew’s just a little guy right now but he’s growing like a champ. So I decided we’d better document his size.

Here he is at 2 weeks 6 days and 6lbs

This is his favorite face to make

I’m excited to share my baby toys with you. I want to teach you about math and homework when you go to preschool.
